Fundraiser set up for family of OPP officer killed in crash

A GoFundMe fundraiser has been set up online for the family of an OPP officer killed in a crash near Woodstock.

On May 29, a crash occurred between a school bus and an unmarked OPP vehicle on Highway 59 at Oxford Road 33 in East Zorra-Tavistock Township.

Both the bus driver and OPP Det. Cst. Steven Tourangeau of the Huron-Perth Community Street Crime Unit and Perth County OPP Detachment were killed. There were no other passengers in either vehicle.

Tourangeau was just 35-years-old and leaves behind his wife, Danikah, and three young boys. In the wake of this tragedy, a GoFundMe campaign (which can be found by clicking here) has been established to try and bring some financial relief to the family.

"He was a dedicated police officer, a loving husband, a perfect friend, son, brother, uncle and the world’s best dad to three amazing boys," campaign organizer Brielle French said on the GoFundMe page. "Danikah is going to have a long road ahead of her- navigating life with her little boys. I’ve created this go fund me in hopes to help relieve a little bit of the financial stress she may experience."

A GoFundMe campaign has also been set up for the driver of the school bus, 71-year-old David James Stewart.
