Spring Rural Romp returns to Wellington County

Wellington County is inviting residents to come and treat their taste buds.

On Saturday, May 27, the annual Spring Rural Romp returns, giving people the opportunity to conduct their own self-guided tours around fourteen different locations in Wellington North focused on showing off all that the rural area has to offer. The fourteen locations include farms, bakeries, plant nurseries, a fibre mill, and a distillery in Mapleton, Minto, and Wellington North. They will be open for visitors from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Participants will be able to see farm animals, talk to farmers, go on wagon rides, and purchase seedlings, flowers, plants, spring produce, and other local foods. A signature item will be available at all locations, as well.

Rural Romp Maps are available at all participating locations or can be requested from the County’s Economic Development Office. For more information, and to view participating locations, go to https://www.wellington.ca/en/business/tastereal.aspx.

“We are fortunate to have a wealth of innovative and diverse farm and food businesses in Wellington County”, said Jeff Duncan, Chair of Wellington County’s Economic Development Committee. “The Rural Romp provides an excellent opportunity to learn about agriculture and see what’s available right in our backyard.”
