Chapman's Ice Cream warns of scammers replicating social media pages

Chapman's Ice Cream has alerted the public about an ongoing scam in which fraudsters have duplicated some of their social media pages with the intention of collecting user data unlawfully.

According to Lesya Chapman, Marketing Manager at Chapman's Ice Cream, scammers are utilizing counterfeit pages to run fraudulent contests, misleading users with company-related information.

Chapman emphasized that Chapman's Ice Cream will never request personal or financial information from anyone. To assure consumers of their legitimate online presence, they have clarified that their only official Facebook page currently boasts a following of over 97,000 users.

One particular fake post on Facebook, shared by the scammers, has already amassed more than 500 interactions and garnered over 1,500 comments, highlighting the scale of the scam's reach and potential impact on unsuspecting individuals.

While the company is actively working to tackle this issue, it has expressed its disappointment with Meta, the parent company of Facebook, for its slow response to the matter.
