Municipality receives funding to build All-Wheels Park

Perth East is receiving funding to construct an All-Wheels Park in Milverton.

Funding is coming through the Ontario Trillium Fund’s Capital Grant Stream in the amount of $115,000 that will help construct the new park. The funding was unveiled on February 3 by Perth-Wellington MPP Mathew Rae. The new park will offer residents a new and low-cost recreational facility that can provide exercise for people of all ages, and will house sports like biking and skateboarding.

Last year, The Ontario Trillium Fund invested nearly $209 million into 2,042 community projects and partnerships, which included funding for the Government of Ontario’s Community Building Fund.

“This is great news for children and families of all ages in the community,” Rae said. “The park will provide an affordable and accessible outlet for sports in Milverton.”

“The Township of Perth East is very happy to have received a grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation,” Perth County Warden and Perth East Mayor, Rhonda Ehgoetz said. “The money will be put toward an All Wheels Park in Milverton.  Many people are looking forward to the All Wheels Park, it will be a great addition to the community.”

“The park will provide another avenue for skills development in sports such as biking or skateboarding,” Rae added. “It is important that our children can explore and pursue their interests. The addition of a skatepark in Milverton will expand these opportunities.”
