Winterfest returns for Family Day

South Huron's Family Day WinterFest is back this year on February 20 after being shut down for two years because of COVID-19.

Dave Frayne and Jeff Musser are Co-Chairing the event. Frayne says they're excited to be back with an in-person event, but it'll take a while to build up the activities to the extent they have had in the past.

“And we're going to have snowshoeing from eleven till one at the South Huron Rec. Centre. The Big Brothers and Big Sisters and the Optimists Club are having a movie at the Exeter Elementary School, and then we hope to have free skating at both the South Huron Rec Centre and the Stephen Township Arena," Frayne said.

Frayne says, to some degree, it's like starting over, but they're taking baby steps.

“We're taking baby steps, we didn't get all of the groups back that were involved in the past, but I think we're starting off fresh again and hopefully it'll continue to grow. We've got little things going on, but we hope by starting off small, that we can, next year, take another step forward," added Frayne.
