Western Warden's Caucus shares successful presentation at ROMA

Huron County Warden and Chair of the Western Ontario Wardens Caucus Glen McNeil said their presentation at the recent Rural Ontario Municipal Association Conference in Toronto was very well received.

McNeil pointed out all of the municipalities within the fifteen county Western Wardens group are dealing with the same issues.

“We just wanted to reiterate our concerns as far as they relate to affordable housing, mental health and addiction, the work force development and the continuation of the broadband and cellular infrastructure investment," McNeil explained.

McNeil said they also had delegations with the Liberal, NDP and the Green Party, and they were very well received.

“Our presentation focused on rural Ontario and it is wonderful that our Provincial government has consultations with our urban strong mayors and we invited the same opportunity for rural Ontario," added McNeil.

The Western Ontario Warden's Caucus wanted to make it clear to all of the ministers how important Rural Ontario is in the larger scheme of the Province, McNeil said. He also pointed out that no Ontario resident should be disadvantaged because they live in rural Ontario.
