Perth County OPP have laid charges following an investigation into an historic domestic and sexual assault.
Police began an investigation on January 11 and learned of alleged historical domestic incidents occurring within the Municipality of North Perth. Investigators determined the victim was assaulted in October of 2022 by the alleged abuser.
The victim did not sustain any serious injuries. As a result, police have arrested and charged a 31-year-old from North Perth with Assault Cause Bodily Harm - Choke, suffocate or strangle, two counts of Uttering Threats - Cause death or Bodily Harm, Domestic Mischief, Sexual Assault and four counts of Unauthorized possession of a Firearm.
The accused was held for a bail hearing.
