Major damage to local cemetery under investigation

An investigation is underway into massive damage done at a local cemetery.

Perth County OPP were contacted on January 4 at 9:45 a.m. when someone noticed damage to headstones at St. Vincent De Paul Cemetery on Nelson Street in Mitchell. Police arrived at the scene and found over 60 headstones damaged on the property. Officers believe that the damage was done sometime between January 3 at 12:30 p.m. and January 4 at 9:45 a.m.

Police are asking for anyone who may have information regarding this massive case of mischief to immediately contact Perth County OPP or Crime Stoppers.
