Another local emergency department closure is coming.
The Listowel Wingham Hospital Alliance says due to a lack of staffing, the emergency department at the Wingham and District Hospital will temporarily close Saturday, December 10 at 9 p.m. until Sunday, December 11 at 7 a.m. Anyone who is suffering from a medical emergency is encouraged to call 911 and first responders will take patients to the nearest emergency departments. Those include Listowel, Clinton, Goderich, Palmerston, Seaforth, Kincardine and Walkerton.
Anyone who has a non-urgent healthcare issue can still call Health Connect Ontario at 811, which is available 24/7.
