County Warden acclaimed for second term

Huron County Warden Glen McNeil was acclaimed for a second two-year term at the county's inaugural council meeting on November 30.

McNeil thanked county councillors for their support in the last two years and very much appreciates their support in acclaiming him as Warden for the next two years. McNeil says his number one priority going forward is the continued delivery of broadband service throughout Huron County and rural Ontario.

“Combined with that is the housing and work force, and the way they integrate with each other. They are interactive and we need to be very conscious of both and address these issues," said McNeil.

Another priority, or area of interest, is the increasing number of people choosing to move to Huron County.

“So combine that with the ever-aging population. We're all heading in the same direction. I think there will be pressures on the healthcare system that we need to be very aware of and be proactive in addressing," McNeil added.

McNeil says it will become very important in the future to proactively address those concerns in advance rather than after the fact.
