United Way Perth Huron gets access to new funding program

United Way Perth Huron has partnered with the Canadian Red Cross and Community Foundations of Canada to access funding from the Community Services Recovery Fund.

The fund is a new $400 million investment from the Government of Canada to support charities and non-profits as they build resilience by making investments in their people, organizations, and program innovation.

United Way Director of Governance & Community Impact Megan Partridge says the funds are dedicated to a specific cause.

“These funds the government has put aside for helping to support recovery in all communities across Canada in the charitable and not for profit sectors to help modernize and adapt coming out of COVID or coming through COVID," Partridge said.

Partridge adds the funding is really helping the organizations and the charities.

“This funding is really helping the organizations and the charities to be able to push forward beyond COVID and help modernize things that we maybe wouldn't have access to dollars for. So really thrilled to be able to pull these dollars into Perth and Huron," added Partridge.

Applications for the funding will be available starting on January 6 and will be available until February 21, 2023. Partridge notes, more information about the funding will be available after January 6 in the new year and organizations that want more information now can go to the http://www.communityservicesrecoveryfund.ca web site.
