OPP hosting Constable Recruitment Information Session

The OPP are hoping to inspire the next generation of officers next month.

In a release, the OPP says they will host a Constable Recruitment Information Session on Monday, July 11th at the Grey Roots Museum & Archives on Grey County Road 18 in Owen Sound from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. The OPP are encouraging interested members of the public to come and learn about the career opportunities available within the OPP ranks. According to the release, there are hundreds of OPP officers ready for retirement over the next few years. There will be opportunities in the near future for those interested in becoming a police officer, auxiliary member volunteer or working in a civilian role. There is no previous education/experience in law or security required.

The OPP states in the release they "assess applicants based on a positive background, maturity, effective interpersonal and communication skills, ability to balance finances and other responsibilities, and those who respect and support inclusiveness and diversity."
