Bruce Power donates toward local sports park

Bruce Power has made a significant donation to a local sports park.

A recent release states that Bruce Power is donating $250,000 to the construction of the Lamont Sports Park in Saugeen Shores. Phase 1 of the project is completed, with four lit baseball diamonds ready for use in spring of 2023. Phase 2 will see the construction of an additional two diamonds. The cost of Phase 2 is estimated at 2.25 million dollars, and the release states that the "Illuminating Dreams Fundraising campaign’s effort to raise 1 million of that amount has gained significant momentum."

Saugeen Shores Mayor thanked Bruce Power for their generosity in the release.

“Bruce Power continues to demonstrate its commitment to being an excellent corporate citizen, and its generous donation is a significant boost,” says Mayor Charbonneau. “On behalf of the community, I express my appreciation and thank Bruce Power for its generosity and support of projects that enhance the quality of life of our residents and those of neighbouring communities.”

“This is a homerun for both Saugeen Shores and baseball players and fans,” shares Mike Rencheck, Bruce Power’s President and CEO. “Bruce Power is committed to helping our communities thrive through community-based projects like this, which will provide healthy recreational opportunities for all ages.”
