County looking for proposals to create additional rental units for vulnerable people

Bruce County is currently seeking proposals to potentially establish more rental units for vulnerable residents.

A release from the county states that the county’s Human Services Department has launched a Request For Proposals to seek additional rental units in the County. The units would be intended to house homeless residents in the area. The county says they are "inviting interested parties that could, with funding, either develop and/or acquire new rental units, complete retrofits and upgrades to existing units, or sell a property to Bruce County that can be used for retrofit or upgrades to enable the creation of new rental units."

“The objective of our RFP is to seek immediate opportunities to create additional rental units designated specifically for vulnerable populations within the next year,” says Christine MacDonald, Director of Human Services.

“Bruce County is committed to planning, delivering, and advocating for responsive housing services that help individuals and families enhance their level of participation and quality of life in our communities. Bruce County strives to provide accessible housing services that remove barriers and create opportunities," adds Bruce County Warden Janice Jackson.
