Huron Shores Hospice raises just over $25,000 in Giving Tuesday campaign

The Huron Shores Hospice flew by their fundraising goal that they set for their Giving Tuesday fundraiser.

In a release, the hospice says they had an initial goal of $10,000, but they ended up more than doubling it with just over $25,000 at the end of the day from 105 different donors. Bruce Power made a $5,000 donation and the Tiverton and District Lions Club made a $1,000 contribution, as well.

The Huron Shores Hospice also announced that the Society of United Professionals is going to match the first $10,000 raised for the hospice's End of Year Campaign which runs right until December 31st.

“The Society of United Professionals is pleased to support this vital service for our community. People being able to receive free quality end-of-life care, close to home, supported by their loved ones provides peace and dignity to the dying. We are proud to support our community hospice as a demonstration of our vision that unions build stronger communities,” says Mike Gade, the Vice President of the Society of United Professionals.

“Donations to our End-of-Year Campaign will sustain us through to our Hike for Hospice event on May 7th next year and help get our in-person community programs up and running as the world opens up," adds Carol Rencheck, Co-Chair of Huron Shores Hospice. “We are so appreciative of The Society of United Professional’s offer to match donations, providing double the impact for each donation.”
