The municipality of Bluewater has approved a vaccination policy for its employees.
Mayor Paul Klopp says their policy is essentially the same policy that was recently passed by county council. Klopp says the policy was done under the direction of Huron Perth Public Health, who took the lead on the creation of the policy and suggested that the municipality should have a policy in place.
Klopp says the policy also applies to councillors, but adds, they also have to respect people's rights.
"But we also have to respect people's rights and also our labour laws in regards to people who work for the municipality, there's a process to try to get people to be vaccinated and also work with those for whatever reason they say they're not going to get vaccinated."
Klopp says they'll deal with each situation as it arises.
