Bruce County staff to celebrate Dress Purple Day for Children's Aid Society

On Wednesday, October 27th, Bruce County staff will be wearing purple to celebrate Dress Purple Day in support of the Children's Aid Society.

Dress Purple Day raises awareness about the important role that individuals and communities play in supporting vulnerable children, youth, and families. The public are encouraged to get involved by wearing purple and sharing a photo or video of yourself on social media. Feel free to use the hashtags #IDressPurpleBecause and #DressPurpleDay2021.

You can learn more about the annual Dress Purple Day initiative at http://www.oacas.org/dresspurpleday/.

“This campaign is more important than ever, since the COVID-19 pandemic has created additional stressors for families, and in some cases has increased risk for the well-being and safety of children and youth,” notes Bruce County Warden Janice Jackson, “We all have a role to play in caring for children, youth, and families.”

“Bruce County’s Human Services Department shares in the mandate to support vulnerable children, youth, and families in our community,” adds Christine MacDonald, Bruce County’s Director of Human Services, “We want all children, youth, and families to know that help is available no matter the challenge they are facing.”
