County municipalities launches new Community Safety and Well-Being website

A new website focused on guidance for community safety and well-being has been launched for Perth County.

Earlier this year, the four regional municipalities in Perth County alongside Stratford and St. Marys, unveiled a "joint Community Safety and Well-being Plan which provides a roadmap for coordinating local safety and well-being planning." The official release states that complex social issues can't be solved by one organization or sector by itself, so the plan and implementation of it is being guided by a Partnership Council with members from the six municipalities. A website has been developed by the council to provide information on how the plan was created, key local safety and well-being priorities, and ongoing implementation activities.

The release also notes the Partnership Council will have board members from other sectors including police, social services, health, mental health and addictions services, education, children and youth services, among others. To visit the website, go to http://www.cswb-stratfordperthstmarys.com.

“We are excited to have a centralized place for all matters related to community safety and well-being,” says Kim McElroy, co-chair of the CSWB Partnership Council. “We encourage residents to visit the site for information about what we are trying to accomplish.”
