New educational series on water importance launches in Perth County

A new series on water and water protection for students in Perth County has launched.

The Perth Children's Water Festival Committee will be releasing educational activities through different slides from October through April for local students to engage them and teach them about the importance of conserving and protecting local water. The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority is working with the committee to facilitate the interactive series of slides available via Google. The festival is for students in grades 4 and 5 and the goal is to teach them the importance of water in their daily lives. Previous water festivals have been held in London, St. Thomas and Woodstock in-person, but the Perth Children's Water Festival will be held virtually due to the ongoing pandemic.

Funding for the festival is being provided by the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation, UTRCA, and other community partners. For more, students and teachers can visit http://www.childrenswaterfestival.ca or watch this video released by the Perth Children's Water Festival Committee https://youtu.be/pDZTCe5dpaY.
