46-year-old Bill Monkman has come out of retirement and will play for the Saugeen Shores Winterhawks this season.
Monkman last played for the Winterhawks during the 2008-09 season, tallying 18 goals and 7 assists over 17 regular season contests.
The Tara-born forward, born in 1975, played his junior hockey with the Listowel Cyclones before joining the University of Guelph for four seasons.

Monkman had stops in his professional career with the Central Hockey League's Topeka ScareCrows (1999-00), Macon Whoopee (2000-01) and the West Coast Hockey League's Bakersfield Condors (2000-01) before he went overseas to play with the Melbourne Ice of the Australian Ice Hockey League, where he scored 11 goals over 19 games. He then played two seasons with the Huntsville Havoc of the Southern Professional Hockey League before joining up with the Winterhawks for two seasons (2007-08 and 2008-09).
The WOAA Senior Hockey Regular Season begins Saturday, October 2nd with the Clinton Radars in Tavistock to meet the Royals at 7:30 p.m., and the newly-formed Creemore Coyotes in Shelburne to take on the Muskies at 8:00 p.m.
The Winterhawks open their regular season schedule on Saturday, October 8th on the road against Clinton at 8:30 p.m.
