Huron Honey program a summer success

Central Huron Community Improvement Coordinator, Angela Smith, says the Huron Student Honey team had another great summer this year.

Smith says they had a lot of new volunteers this year.

"The honey production was terrific. We had lots of great volunteers. I believe there's one more harvest yet to come and then we will start bottling the honey and the jars will be ready for sale shortly so that they're available for Christmas gift giving, as they were last year."

The volunteers range in age from elementary students to retirees and the money raised goes back into the cost of running the projects and to the students who made it work. She says they expect to be putting the honey into jars this weekend and they'll be able to start selling it after that.
