Youth arrested and charged following firearm incident

A 17-year-old from West Perth is facing charges following a recent firearms incident in Mitchell.

Perth County OPP say that on September 17th just after 11:30 a.m., officers responded to an incident at an address on Frances Street East in Mitchell involving a replica firearm. Police conducted an investigation and as a result, a 17-year-old was arrested and charged with Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose and Mischief – Interfere with any person in the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property – Under $5,000.

The accused was released from custody and has a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.
