Kincardine begins search for new CAO

Kincardine is beginning a search for a new CAO following the announced departure of Sharon Chambers.

In a release, the municipality says that after 4 years as CAO in Kincardine, Chambers has accepted the CAO position with the Town of Wilmot, effective October 12th. Chambers has been working in public service for over 25 years, the last 4 of which were in Kincardine. Some of her notable accomplishments highlighted in the release include an organizational restructuring process, the development of a Corporate Strategic Plan, an Economic Development Strategy, and the municipal response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Chambers stated it has been an honour to serve Kincardine, council and the residents over the years.

“Ms. Chambers has worked in public service for over 25 years and has served the Municipality of Kincardine for more than 4 years,” says Mayor Gerry Glover. “In that time, she has led an organizational restructuring process, the development of a Corporate Strategic Plan, an Economic Development Strategy, and the municipal response to the COVID-19 pandemic, among many other noteworthy accomplishments. On behalf of Council, I thank Ms. Chambers for her work and wish her well in her new position. Council will work closely with the senior leadership team in the weeks ahead to ensure a seamless transition.”

“I have every confidence that the Municipality of Kincardine will move forward seamlessly because of our capable and talented staff,” says Chambers. “It has been an honor to work with such an incredible team, and very enthusiastic councillors during my career at the Municipality of Kincardine. I am proud of the work we have completed together, especially during such challenging times.”
