NDP candidate for Perth-Wellington hoping to become the area's next MP

Actor/Handyman Kevin Kruchkywich has been acclaimed as the NDP candidate in Perth-Wellington for the next provincial election.

Kruchkywich says he was motivated to get into politics during the COVID-19 pandemic, which he says exposed many inequalities and has contributed to the evaporation of Canada's middle class.

Kuchkywich says "I've always been interested in politics, but I never thought I'd actually run. Living through what we've all been going through, and seeing the growing disparity so clearly because of the cracks this pandemic has exposed was really a call to action for me".

Working in theatre at the Stratford Festival and Drayton Entertainment, Kruchkywich says the NDP is the voice of several kinds of workers, including those in agriculture, hospitality and factories, and those make up the majority of workers in Perth-Wellington, which is why the riding needs an NDP candidate as its Member of Parliament.

The federal election is scheduled to be held on September 20th.
