Bayfield Lions hosting series of informational sessions

The Bayfield Lions' Club is hosting a series of talks over the next four Friday nights.

The talks are being held in Clan Gregor Square and the guest speaker is Brian O'Reilly, founder of Human Potential Plus, providing high performance internal psychology transformation coaching, with 35 years of private practice counselling. The first talk is this coming Friday night and it will run from 7 p.m. till 8:30 p.m.

O'Reilly says the topic for this week will be Understanding Suicide, which he says has become a more prevalent issue during the pandemic.

"If I can find a way to educate people more and perhaps we could find revenue for people and other people could notice the signs and support and connect with people so that could save a few lives."

O'Reilly says, as a result of the pandemic, a lot of people have been left without the supports they need to cope.

He says what he's hoping to do is bring an understanding of what suicide is.

"What I'm going to try to do is bring an understanding of what suicide is and how it develops and why people commit suicide, what are the signs to look for and really understanding the whole nature of suicide."

Other discussions in the series are Creating Great Relationships on July 30th, The Source of Unhappiness on August 6th and The Secret of Staying in Love on August 13th.

Attendees are asked to bring their own lawn chairs to these evenings that will all run from 7 p.m. till 8:30 p.m. in Clan Gregor Square and they are all free.
