Grey Bruce Health Services allowing visitors for patients back in hospitals

Grey Bruce Health Services are going to begin allowing single visitors for patients in their hospitals once again.

In a release on June 1st, the GBHS says as of June 2nd, they will once again allow one visitor per patient to come into their hospitals. Visitors had been restricted at all GBHS hospitals except in special circumstances since the introduction of the provincial stay-at-home order in early April. Any visitor must be identified by the patient upon admission and any visitors are going to be required to call the nurses station at any of the GBHS hospital sites prior to planning a visit because schedules can change fluidly.

GBHS also states in their release that "outpatients coming into hospital for pre-booked appointments are asked to come alone to reduce traffic within the hospitals."

Visiting times in GBHS Owen Sound, Wiarton, Lion’s Head and Southampton Hospitals are daily from 3-6:30 p.m., and in GBHS Markdale and Meaford Hospitals, from 12-3:30 p.m. daily.
