Phase 3 of Bruce Road 25 construction begins May 25th

The 3rd phase of the Bruce Road 25 construction will begin on May 25th.

In a release from Bruce County, it was confirmed that the project, which is south of Port Elgin, will include the "conversion of the rural road cross section to urban road standards and the installation of storm and sanitary sewers." The project will also include the creation of a trail which will separate cyclists and pedestrians from vehicles. The county hopes this will improve safety while creating a more enjoyable experience for tourists and locals visiting the beach.

This next phase of the project will require long-term road closures, and the timeline is estimated to be sometime in November 2021. Local detours will also be in place and it is intended that local landowners will have access to their properties throughout the project's duration.

Bruce County Warden Janice Jackson adds, “The County is collaborating with our municipal partners to provide necessary infrastructure to support shared industries and our growing economy. This enhancement on Bruce Road 25 will provide improved safety, services, and accessibility for the public.”
