Mayor says council is behind helping local airport succeed

Goderich Mayor, John Grace, says the Goderich Airport is too big an asset to the town and the county to be neglected the way it has in the past few years.

And he says the task force that's been put together to come up with a business plan that will make the Airport viable is making progress.

"It's going very well. It's led by Terry Lambert, he is the chair of the task force. We've seen more interest in the Goderich Airport in the last month and a half than we've seen in the last ten or fifteen years. So things are looking very positive."

Grace adds, Goderich council, at their last meeting voted in favour of investing more money in giving the Goderich Airport well-deserved face lift.

"Council has invested more money in giving the Goderich Airport well-deserved face lift, so we can start engaging other companies, putting our best foot forward, making some investment in the Airport."

Grace says, at this point, they're looking at all of their options and nothing is off the table, but the Airport is too important to the economy of the area not to invest in its future.
