Police continue to investigate propane gas fire/explosion

Grey-Bruce OPP officers continue to investigate a recent propane gas fire and explosion that recently occurred in Grey Highlands.

On April 13th at 8:46 a.m., police alongside Grey Highlands Fire Department and Grey County Paramedic Services responded to an explosion/fire that had occurred at a rural property on Grey Road 12, near Sideroad 10A, in the Municipality of Grey Highlands. A tractor trailer carrying propane cylinders was attempting to unload several tanks when a leak occurred in a cylinder, causing an explosion and fire. Three people assisting with the unloading sustained burns as a result, and all three individuals were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal was brought in to help assist with the investigation. The Ministry of Labour, Transport Canada and the Technical Standards and Safety Authority are also providing assistance. The investigation is ongoing.
