Angela Smith says the goal of the project is to decorate the back alleys of the main street stores because people are going to have to use the back door entrance for some of those stores while the main street is under construction this summer. Smith says budding artists of all ages were invited to pick a free four by four or a four by eight piece of plywood at Langford Lumber and then go to town.
Smith says there are no guidelines on what the art can be and everyone is doing something different.
Smith says they're hoping to put the art works up early in May.
"We're hoping to put them up early May and prior to that we will announce a couple of drop-off bins, where folks can bring them to town and we'll do a mass collection of them and then as soon as the weather is good, we will start installation."
