North Perth is asking residents to participate in a survey that will help determine and maintain the downtown areas in Listowel, Monkton and Atwood.
Community Improvement Project Planner, Lee Barich, says it's a great opportunity for residents to help North Perth find a consistent vision for the future of the downtowns.
"By creating these design guidelines, we want to make sure our downtowns continue to be ideal destinations for residents, visitors and newcomers and in doing so, support our local economy and foster economic growth."
Barich says the guidelines established from the survey will offer direction for developers and property owners who invest in new buildings or improvements in those downtown communities. He says the survey is very accessible and utilizes images and multiple choice questions.
"That will allow you to give us some really valuable feedback and at the end of that, you have the opportunity to write a few comments and tell us what you really like about the conditions in our downtowns and what you might like to see in the future as we continue to grow."
On top of developing those guidelines for businesses and property owners or developers, Barich also notes the survey results will help develop a new North Perth facade improvement program.
