Police make arrest following incident at local business involving fake weapon

A Wellington North resident faces numerous charges following an armed robbery in Mount Forest.

On September 14th at 4:15 p.m., Wellington County OPP responded to a public disturbance at a business located on Main Street in Mount Forest. It was reported that a male was inside the business, yelling and causing a disturbance, when a second person entered and drew a handgun and pointed it at the male. A brief exchange ensued and both parties left the business in opposite directions. Officers located both people shortly after the incident.

As a result, one person was arrested and a replica handgun was seized. 21-year-old Wellington North resident Spencer Charles Lovell is facing numerous charges, including:

-Robbery with a Weapon

-Imitation Firearm - Use While Committing Offence

-Possession of Imitation Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

-Carrying a Concealed Weapon

-Fail to Comply With Undertaking X2

The accused was held for a bail hearing. No one was injured as a result of this incident.
