Police investigating bus crash

Wellington County OPP are investigating a single vehicle crash east of Mount Forest involving a small bus.

On July 30th at 6:30 am, officers responded alongside Wellington North Fire Services and Guelph-Wellington Emergency Medical Services to a report of a single vehicle crash involving a small bus on Wellington County Road 16, east of Mount Forest. 18 people were on board the bus, which came to rest on its side in the ditch. 8 people sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the crash and were taken to hospitals in Mount Forest and Palmerston for treatment. Ornge air ambulance later transported three of the eight injured parties to a Hamilton hospital for additional care.

Wellington County Road 15 to 12 Line, which had been closed for the investigation, is now open to traffic. Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash. Anyone who witnessed the crash or has any information is encouraged to call Wellington County OPP or Crime Stoppers.
