Listowel Cyclones drop Game 3 to Straford, now trail quarter-final series 2-1

The Listowel Cyclones will be looking for a bounce-back game this Wednesday after dropping a 6-1 decision to the Stratford Warriors on Sunday night, leaving them trailing this Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League Midwestern Quarter-Final two games to one.

Not much in the way of positives for Listowel in Game 3, as they were thoroughly outplayed for the large majority of the game. Drew Welsch opened the scoring for Stratford on the Power Play just over five minutes into the first frame, with New Hamburg native Callan Christner made it 2-0 for Stratford at the end of the first.

Drew Farris and Cole Melady added to the total for Stratford in the second period, and Carter Schoonderwoerd made it 5-0 midway through the third to stamp out any thoughts of Listowel comeback.

David Mabey added the lone goal for Listowel late.

Game 4 of this series goes Wednesday night at the Steve Kerr Memorial Complex in Listowel at 7:30 p.m. in a game you can hear on Cherrey Buslines OHA on AM 920 CKNX.
