Bruce Power welcomes another partner on major component replacement project

Almost 60 businesses have come to the area in support of Bruce Power and their Major Component Replacement (MCR) project.

Applus+ held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at their new Walkerton location on Monday.

Applus+ Canada President James Grant said they specialize in non-destructive testing.

“Applus+ does non-destructive testing. We’re going to be performing radiography inspections and weld inspections at the Bruce Power facility.”

Mike Rencheck, president and CEO of Bruce Power, said the advancements in their technology will save day's worth of inspection time.

“This is groundbreaking for our industry, and it’s groundbreaking for many industries around the world. The fact that it’s happening right here in Bruce County makes it very special for all of us."

The business expects to employ 70-100 people locally.
