The Municipality of Kincardine looks poised to invite Ontario Power Generation to an upcoming council meeting to discuss implications associated with its DGR hosting agreement.
Last week, members of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation emphatically voted against a proposal to build a Deep Geologic Repository in Bruce County to hold low-and-intermediate nuclear waste.
Kincardine Deputy Mayor Marie Wilson brought forward the notice of motion, and it will be discussed at a meeting on February 10.
Mayor Anne Eadie also discussed the vote during last night's council meeting, noting Kincardine has been a willing host community since 2004, and every council since that time has supported the project.
