Big weekend in WOAA Senior Hockey as regular season winds down

Friday night kicked off a critical weekend for some local senior hockey teams.

The Clinton Radars beat the Shelburne Muskies 8-2 to move into first place, at least temporarily. Clinton has now completed its entire 22 game schedule, finishing with a record of 16-6-0-0.

The W.O.A.A. Schedule heading into action on Saturday night

Most other teams have at least one regular season game remaining, especially those jockeying for playoff position.

Saturday night's schedule should provide some clarity. The Seaforth Centenaires, led by former Listowel Cyclones standout Holdyn Lansink, have won five straight games on their way to earning a tie for 3rd in the standings, and will complete their regular season schedule Saturday at home against the Tavistock Royals. Lansink currently has 44 PTS in 19 WOAA contests this season.

The Ripley Wolves (32 PTS, 3 games remaining) and Saugeen Shores Winterhawks (30 PTS, 3 games remaining) continue to look like the safer bets to win the regular season title this year. Ripley has a pair of home games this weekend on Saturday against Lucknow and Sunday against Shallow Lake, while the Winterhawks are on the road against Elora tonight.
