North Perth mayor looks forward to major 2020 projects

Most municipalities are beginning to get their plans for the year underway, and that includes North Perth.

Mayor Todd Kasenburg said on top of local infrastructure projects, he's excited about the future of the North Perth Library.

"I think we're really optimistic about the library projects that we've submitted. It will create a lot of work and frenzy in the organization if we're successful, but we have a brave, bold team that is looking forward to taking it on," he said.

Mayor Kasenburg added the repairing of Line 84 is a big project because it will tie into the plans for the truck bypass for Listowel.

"Several of the major projects we'll be getting on with at least in part this year, including the Line 84 reconstruction, which I think is really important and quite pivotal, at least in my eyes, to the truck bypass for downtown Listowel," he said.

In regards to other pressing matters, Mayor Kasenburg said there will be a number of ongoing issues locally and at the county level that need to be sorted out.

"There are still concerns about how farm severances are happening, and so forth.  The county is keeping busy as well, with a number of changes around staffing and planning models and even shared services activities," he said.
