Blustery New Year’s Eve for Midwestern Ontario

Blowing snow and poor driving conditions could change the New Year’s Eve plans for many local residents.

Bruce, Grey and Huron counties are under a snow squall warning on Tuesday.  There is a weather advisory for Perth and Wellington counties.

Bands of steady snow are moving across the area from Lake Huron. Roads are snowcovered, and there is black ice underneath.  Visibility is reduced in those snow streamers.

Drivers are reminded to slow down on the slippery roads and at intersections.

Brief, but intense snowfall will continue today, along with strong wind gusts.

A further five to 10 centimetres is forecast for today, along with strong wind gusts.  Another five centimetres is predicted for tonight with a gusty wind.
