OPP seeking caller who phoned in fake robbery report
OPP officers have re-opened a Collingwood Street following an incident Monday morning.
Officers responded to a report of a robbery at 11:10 a.m., and closed down Hurontario Street upon arriving at the financial institution in question. However, officers discovered that no such incident had occurred, but based on the caller’s information, police closed Hurontario Street to ensure no threats to public safety.
An investigation is now underway to locate the caller who falsely reported the robbery.
Anyone with information should contact Collingwood or Blue Mountains OPP, or Crime Stoppers.
