Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson has announced more than $3 million in provincial grants for area hospitals under the Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund program.

Thompson said the grants are used for improvements to such things as heating and cooling, airflow, fire alarm systems, and back-up generators.

The Seaforth Community Hospital is receiving over $900,000, the South Huron Hospital will get $878,000, and the Clinton Public Hospital can expect just over $300,000.

The Kincardine site of the South Bruce Grey Health Centre will receive $300,000, the Walkerton site about $240,000, a grant of $234,000 to the Wingham and District Hospital, and just over $100,000 for the Alexandra Marine and General Hospital in Goderich.

Perth-Wellington hospitals will share in over $2.5 million. Over $1.2 million has been committed to the Stratford General Hospital.  The Listowel Memorial Hospital will be getting over $640,000, and the St. Marys Memorial Hospital can expect $340,000.

The North Wellington Health Care Corporation will receive just over $350,000.

Grey Bruce Health Services, which includes the Southampton Hospital, is receiving just over $2.8 million.
