‘All In – For Your Health’ campaign surpasses fundraising goal
The Goderich community has rallied around a hospital Foundation fundraising project.
In early 2019, the Alexandra Marine and General Hospital Foundation launched the “All In – For Your Health” campaign. The goal was to raise $3.5 million to replace the aging CT Scanner and refurbish the hospital’s 40-year-old Mental Health and Addictions Unit.
The Campaign Team has announced that it exceeded the goal, and raised a total of $4.53 million. The new CT Scanner will cost an estimated $1.5 million.
Exceeding the goal means the Goderich hospital will be able to complete additional improvements that will further upgrade the care environment in the Mental Health and Addictions Unit.
Shawn Lynn, chair of the AMGH Foundation Board, noted that “the generosity of our community is overwhelming. On behalf of the board, I would like to thank all our donors – local government, community groups, businesses large and small, families and individuals – for supporting the All In Campaign and recognizing the importance of quality health care close to home.”
The Campaign Team, led by Honorary Chair Dr. Patrick Conlon and Chair John Peet, made dozens of presentations to local municipalities and service clubs, and met with individuals, businesses and corporations throughout Huron County and beyond.
