Saugeen Shores hits milestone for construction value

Saugeen Shores is moving closer to a record for new construction.

The town has surpassed the $100 million mark in construction value this year.

As of November 1, Saugeen Shores had issued 329 building permits this year, with a total construction value of $100.65 million.

By comparison, at the same point last year, the Town had issued 337 permits with a value of just over $75 million.

The number of permits includes residential, commercial, institutional, agricultural, and other new builds, renovations, additions and demolitions.

“Reaching this milestone wouldn’t be possible without the developers, builders, contractors and skilled trade experts who support our community’s growth,” said Mayor Luke Charbonneau in a news release.  “And a special thanks to our staff, from those in the building department to the crews putting shovels in the ground for all of their work in achieving this goal.”
