Premier Doug Ford has announced new funding for police services at Blue Mountain Village.
Ford spoke at the Ontario Provincial Police Association's Annual General Meeting on Tuesday and said police services will receive $6 million over three years in the form of grants .
Ford said the government is taking money being used by crime, and reinvesting it into front-line crime prevention.
According to a release, police services across the province, including municipal, provincial and First Nations, are eligible to apply for the funding under the Proceeds of Crime - Front-Line Policing Grant.
Police services applying for funding will be required to partner with at least two community organizations from different sectors to encourage multi-sector collaboration.
Successful applicants will be announced in the spring of 2020.
