A portion of Wednesday night's council meeting in Southgate Township will examine the future of the Olde Town Hall in Dundalk.
A volunteer group called "Team Town Hall" will ask council to support them in endeavours to save the building, and begin committing funding to planned renovations.
The building was closed in 2014, but Team Town Hall member Samantha Parent said a grant available could cover up to 75 per cent of the project, and could make a difference in the building's future. Parent says staff has been looking at using this grant towards a new building for office space for staff.
She said the group also has a petition from Grey Highlands Secondary School students with 150 signatures that is recommending using the building as a movie theatre, due to there not being any in the Dundalk area.
