Huron East man charged with possession of drugs also had improper license plates on minivan

A man from Huron East is facing charges after a minivan was found to have improper license plates.

Huron County Ontario Provincial Police say the incident took place last Saturday in Wingham.

According to a release, the investigating officer noted the attached license plates were not registered to the vehicle the driver was operating. After conducting a traffic stop, the officer learned the vehicle was not insured, and the validation sticker on the plate was improper.

The driver allegedly tried to conceal a pill bottle inside the vehicle, which was found to be suspected methamphetamine.

A 50-year-old Huron East man faces several charges, including Possession of a Schedule I Substance, and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.

He has a court date for later this month in Goderich.
