Clinton is getting ready for a big weekend on main street.
The seventh winner in Clinton's Win This Space competition says, by going from one winner to seven and then adding another four new businesses that weren't part of the competition, Clinton has definitely raised the bar for other communities. All 11 new storefronts will celebrate their official grand opening in Clinton on Saturday.
The photographer and owner of Arch Angels Studios, Jesse Lambert, said it would be great if other communities can build on what's happened in Clinton.
“Hopefully they can because it would be great. There's a lot of small towns that are not surviving that need this and Clinton is one of them and from our seven, we have eleven stores now,” said Lambert.
Lamber tsaid the Win This Space competition was a great opportunity for him.
“It has given me a place to do business, to stay close to my mother and without that burden of rent that a lot of people want to start, you know, that's a big chunk of money that they need to hope they'll make," he said.
Lambert said rent is often a significant amount of money that they hope they'll be able to make, so having that burden removed is huge.
