Nominations are now being accepted for the annual North Perth Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards.
Sharon DArcey from the Chamber said the BEAs are an annual celebration of local businesses in North Perth, with the community driving the momentum behind the eventual award winners through open nominations.
"It's an opportunity for the consumer to actually highlight those businesses and tell us why they should be nominated, and then we get to go out and hand celebratory balloons to them and kind of celebrate the nomination," she said.
DArcey said the Chamber relies on the public to nominate businesses via the Chamber website, with nominations open now until September 9. After that, judges will vote and determine the award winners, which are revealed at a banquet in October.
"The evening is held at the Listowel Ag Society on Wednesday, October 23, and it's a dinner and we have a guest speaker," she said. "Then we do the presentations to the winning businesses."
