Wingham Ironmen make big trade with Exeter Hawks

The Wingham Ironmen hope they have found their next star overager.

The team announced they have acquired forward Liam Melady from the Exeter Hawks in exchange for cash. The deal is a significant one for Provincial Junior Hockey, as it is one of the first trades that sees the trading of an overage player to another conference, something only made possible by recent changes to the rules governing player movement across the PJHL. Melady had 51 PTS in 29 regular season games with Exeter in 2018/19, and added an additional 27 PTS over 24 playoff games for a combined 78 PTS in 53 GP.
