Police lay drug charges after traffic stop for probation violations

Saugeen Shores police laid a number of charges against two Wallaceburg residents after a traffic stop on Sunday.

Police spotted a 34-year-old man who was in violation of his probation and release conditions resulting from previous incidents. He was not to have contact with a woman with whom he was found in the vehicle. A search was conducted after the initial arrest, and police found a quantity of drugs including cocaine, purple fentanyl and methamphetamine.

As a result of the search, the 45-year-old woman was also arrested, and both were charged with numerous drug and trafficking offences. Both of the accused were held in Walkerton for bail hearings.
